PACKING CAMERA CARRY-ON, NEW TAG HEUER SEAFARER & MORE

CAMERA GEAR & HOW I’M PACKING IT
There’s something that makes me so giddy about gear. All kind of gear. But, especially camera gear. It’s a constant revolving door of molding how I travel with it that I doubt will ever end.
I’ve traveled with a Pelican Air 1535 for years and still do. It’s the perfect travel roller for a quick trip, especially when you’re dealing with the elements. I’ve had some issues though while traveling to far-off countries. Customs will see a Pelican case and almost always instantly flag you because they know it’s camera equipment and they want to snoop around. This is the last thing you want to deal with in customs after a long flight. I’ve also never loved the 2 wheel configuration or the flimsy handle.
Enter the new Pelican ATX 22’ carry-on. This is my first trip with it, and I’m overly excited. In short, it’s a more everyday-carry option from Pelican, with the same waterproof and dustproof tech as all the other Pelicans. It’s a bit more subtle and finally has proper wheels and handle.
Anyways, this is how I’m packing it for this trip and what gear I’m taking.
Under the zipper I have some basic clothing and essentials since it’s only a 1 day trip. On the open side, I have two camera inserts. One insert is the Camera Gear Insert from Beis.. It’s a really nice size to chuck in any bag. In that, I have my M11-P Safari and Summilux 50mm Classic, my Leica Q2 Reporter, a 35mm Summilux and a Contax T3.
The other is the Pelican Audio pouch, which fits my GFX 100ii and a lens on it just right. This is a really common kit for me when I’m doing quick trips. Any questions on the gear or setup beyond this, ask away in the comments!

NEW TAG HEUER SEAFARER
Ok, I have to talk about the Seafarer because I haven't stopped wearing it since I got it.
Here’s the thing that makes it cool: back in 1949, Heuer made a watch that tracked tides for Abercrombie & Fitch (when A&F was actually a legit outdoor sporting goods store). The Tide Tracking feature of high and low tide lived on through the ‘70s and then just disappeared. This watch brings it back.
There’s a little “TIDE” button at 9 o’clock that rotates a disc.. teal for high tide, yellow for low which is synced to the lunar cycle. One full rotation every 29.53 days. It’s genuinely useful if you’re on the water and genuinely fun to mess with if you’re not.
The dial is warm and vintage-feeling. Its champagne with gold hands and these little teal accents named after a yacht that won the America’s Cup in 1967. It looks expensive, but comes in around $8,800 which isnt offensive like other watches out there. It’s 42mm, domed sapphire crystal, in-house movement with 80 hours of power reserve.
Drops March 2026.

How do you find the workflow with the X100? I’ve heard it can be a little clunky for anything outside of a studio, and keen to know your thoughts on working with the files!
Curious, is this a personal day trip or something you bring to shoot for an easy brand shoot? I've been eying the Q2 reporter or Q-P for a while and ebay and FM forums have had some incredible deals.
